When we started talking with Om Malik about a redesign of GigaOM, his technology & VoIP blog, you can imagine we were pretty excited. What did catch me off-guard is that he was equally excited about working with us, which I’d say is a pretty large compliment.
Om really likes the Mac OS X aqua interface, and one of the few creative directions we got was that he wanted his site sleek and futuristic like his favorite operating system. So even though I try to stay away from cliché drop shadows and flat gradients nowadays (oh who am I kidding) I busted out all my old tricks for his redesign, and I think it came out pretty well. Om thinks so too!
This project was under a tight deadline (aren’t they all?) so we’re still rolling out new features even though the main site was launched a few weeks ago. Tweaks here and there, iterations, they keep everybody happy 🙂
